This summer we are participating in fiber and grain variety trials in order to find out the best hemp genetics that produce the most profitable crop. At H4H, we are keeping our eye out for high-density hurd-producing varieties that will build us the most house per acre. Working with MSU we are dialing in on genetics for the building industry as well as checking out what varieties work well for grain and long-strand fibers to feed other industries.
With an opportunity to rebuild an agricultural industry from the ground up, we can take the best of what we've learned since the dawn of agricultural civilization to best suit our new society. With renewed knowledge of ancient sustainable farming practices and advancements in the agro-technology industry, we can begin to farm in a way that better suits the farmers and the soil that we all depend on.
